Whimpering Weekend

As wonderful as it is to have Chloe supporting me electronically NOTHING compares to how brilliant it was to have her with me at Pump on Saturday morning. After a delicious meal at Mexico followed by edible heaven from Milse in Britomart on Friday night, come Saturday morning we both donned various shades of purple sports gear (completely coincidentally I promise!) and headed to the gym. Both occasions completely confirmed that

For further inspiration we were joined by the rather phenomenal Bex’s who I spent years chasing on the Concept II, around Hagley Park and up and down the Avon during our rowing days. Nothing has changed, tempering my competitive streak I accepted that she was lifting double (if not triple) what I was and just revelled in having two very good friends to train with. It is simple. Training is so much more enjoyable with company.

I followed this weight training with real life weight training, with the aid of Hyde and a moving truck I finally managed to get all of my gear out of Norana. We all then inadvertently introduced some core exercise at Anna’s musical, laughing as her character ‘Frigid Bridget’ wound her way towards a surprising end.

I blame this accumulation of activity for Sunday’s whimpering but save your pity, it was that glorious, virtuous whimpering which reminded me how important this challenge is and so I laughed it off and thought forward to my next class.

Then Queen’s Birthday caught me out. I simply forgot this morning was Tuesday, my normal Pump morning! Now that my brain has caught up from the long weekend here are my goals for the week. As always, if anyone is around I would love the company.

Wednesday:        6.00am Swim at Tepid Baths
Thursday:            6.10am Pump at City Club
Friday:                 5.30pm Balance at City Club
Saturday:             8.30am Pump at Britomart followed by CRX
Sunday:                Walk to the top of Mt Eden (drove up for the first time last week and feel it ought to be on my AKL bucket list!)

Finally, it felt time to have a 'before' photo of Chloe and I so here we are at Kawakawa Bay on the way back from the Clevedon Markets on Sunday.
